Welcome to Creative License: Art Classes for Kids
Creative License is all about helping each child find their own creative voice. These are not cookie-cutter classes, where each child is taught how
to draw the same way. Instead, concepts such as line and shape, positive and negative space, and color theory will be introduced, and each child will explore those concepts through specific projects. I will often show examples of the how different artists approached a similar exercise first, and then encourage the kids to develop their own, unique expression.
Because lessons will never be an exact repeat, children are encouraged to participate in multiple sessions. Doing so will help build both their understanding and their comfort level with the creative process.
Classes are held in my Irvington home, and are no more than 8 children per class. All materials are always provided. Parents are welcome to drop off or wait for their child. Please be sure that your presence will not be a distraction to the child if you choose to stay.
